In addition to daily response to calls for police services, officers assigned to the Southern District meet with citizens and business representatives on a regular basis through community-based meetings. Officers are becoming increasingly familiar in the neighborhoods through homeowner association meetings and random contacts.
Through continuous community contacts, officers and members of the community identify problem areas and exchange ideas to enhance the quality of life.
The District is comprised of ten sectors: nine residential/business and the mall sector. Each sector is assigned officers to address community concerns as they relate to security and safety and serve as the “go to” person from within the department and for the members of the community.
