Welcome to the City of Coral Springs, Florida. We value our customers and our goal is to provide you with superior customer service. Listed below is some important information regarding your utility bill.

Please take a moment to review this information so you may gain an understanding of how your monthly billing statement is calculated. There is an administrative fee to open a new account of $20.00 for each meter. This fee is reflected on your first bill. A deposit is also required to open a new account or to restore water to a location.

Deposits are maintained by the city in a non-interest bearing account. Your deposit will be refunded to you after your account has been paid in full and has been closed.

Payments must be received on or before the due date to be considered on time. A door hanger will be placed at your location if your account is delinquent and a $20 fee will be charged. A lock-off fee of $30 will be charged if your meter must be turned off. You are billed on a monthly basis. Some examples of monthly base charges are as follows:

Interesting Facts - Samples of how much water is used for some common tasks:

Cooking and Drinking: 3 gallons

Showering: 5 to 10 gallons per minute

Brushing Teeth: leaving the water on can use up to 10 gallons depending upon how long you brush

Taking a Bath: with the tub filled, 30 to 50 gallons

Shaving: with the water running, up to 20 gallons

Dishwashing by Hand: with the water running, 30 gallons

Automatic Dishwater: 20 gallons

Flushing the Toilet: a standard toilet uses 5 to 7 gallons per flush, new reduced gallon toilets use 3 gallons

Laundry: full load in large washing machine uses about 60 gallons; normal wash is 40 to 50 gallons

Lawn Watering: the average hose runs 10 gallons per minute. To water a typical home lot uses 4,000 gallons each watering.
