WORK AREA: Several Segments of Riverside Drive Near Atlantic Boulevard, Coral Ridge Drive and University Drive
The Highway and Bridge Maintenance Division will be installing new asphalt and pavement markings along several segments of Riverside Drive near Atlantic Boulevard, Coral Ridge Drive and University Drive. Work will begin July 8, 2019 and be substantially complete by August 13, 2019 barring any unforeseen conditions or weather delays.
The purpose of the project is to improve travel conditions for motorists and cyclists by adding new asphalt and pavement markings. Most of the work will be accomplished during the school’s summer break to minimize the impact to the nearby Riverside Elementary School, Panacea Preparatory
Charter School, Ramblewood Middle School, and JP Taravella High School.
Construction activities will occur during the day to lessen impacts to nearby residential areas.During the project Riverside Drive will experience temporary lane closures during off-peak daytime hours. However, at least one lane in each direction will be open to traffic. Access to sidewalks and driveways will be maintained and variable message signs will be posted in advance of and during construction to warn affected motorists and pedestrians.
